First fucking line of that song and I'm about to cry great big bitch tears...

Holy fuck do I owe Matt Smith an apology if I ever meet him. My initial assumption that he would be a naff Doctor because of his silly floppy hair could not have been more off. As if... well, his entire run on the show wasn't proof enough of this, 'The Angels take Manhattan' shows him off to such a wonderful degree. Watching him play the Doctor as furious, then caring, then frustrated, then fearful, then joyous and then downright terrified and desperate at the end... Absolutely amazing.

I'll be honest, there were a couple of thing I didn't like in this episode (Statue of Liberty is an Angel, and no one noticed? Yeah, no, but I guess I can ignore it. But then you don't even do anything with it? What the hell writers?) but Smith was just fucking golden from start to finish.

I was also kinda hoping that Amy would die. Just to see what would happen to Rory.

Bloody annoyed that the woman who played Oswin won't be returning as Oswin though. I'd have loved The Doctor to have a Dalek companion.

Also, I've come to the realisation that I really want to re-watch New Who, but only with a friend who's never seen them before. I think I want to watch them more than watch the show, and isn't that just a little creepy.

Watching one of his videos I laughed so hard I started coughing and almost yakked up a lung. I dunno, maybe if I wasn't deathly ill and sleep deprived right now I wouldn't have found it as funny, but watching him dunk a Magic card into a 'Troy and Abed in the Morning' mug, then fucking eat it was the funniest thing I've seen all day.

Onto the Hunger Games: Just got the DVD and watched it for the first time. Aside from lots of little niggles (Why didn't she check the fence? That was pretty dumb.) and a few more major ones (Dogs... really? That's... that's just awful.) I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. But something does occur to me now, that I can't really dispel on my own. I need someone who hasn't read the books, but has watched the movie to help me out. So whilst I endeavour to find such a person, I thought I might as well pose it to anyone curious enough to visit this blog too. What did you think of the romance between Katniss and Peeta? Did you just accept that they were falling in love? Because (Kinda spoilers after this point, you've been warned. Alright you gone? Good.) there is a BIG part of their relationship that I don't think was ever addressed, except for Haymitch kinda ALMOST hinting at it right near the end. And leaving that out might come back to bite them right in the ass if they make Catching Fire, because if you were meant to honestly buy Katniss being full on "in wuv" with Peeta, she might seem like a bit of a bitch when she starts getting all cuddly with Gale.

My main point being: I knew that Katniss was playing it up for the cameras, and being more "Oh Peeta, I wuv you!" than she actually felt, because I'd read the books, but if I hadn't, would I just have seen two people falling for one another? Hell if that was what I was meant to believe, then the berries at the end turn from being a "Clever girl..." moment into a "Oh gawd! Peeta, I can't live without your big stwong arms!" moment. I dunno, it's just nagging at me.

That and Snow didn't feel right. There was too much of him, and he just came off as a frail old man to me. Not the commanding, terrifying presence he was in the books.

Also, hyped for the Slow Invasion. Fuck yeah, tiny black cubes are ominous as FUCK!

Additional: I just got an awesome little nerf gun from my friend. The darts whistle. This is pleasing to me.
